Chaos in China: Hamilton and Leclerc Disqualified as F1 Standings Shake Up!

The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix delivered a jaw-dropping twist as Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were both disqualified, dealing a crushing blow to Ferrari in the second race of the season. Post-race inspections revealed Hamilton’s skid block was below the required thickness, while Leclerc’s car was found to be underweight. Alpine’s Pierre Gasly also faced disqualification for a similar underweight issue.

As a result, Hamilton and Leclerc lost their hard-earned points from sixth and fifth place finishes – wiping eight and 10 points from their championship totals, respectively.

F1 Standings After the Chinese GP Drama:

1. Lando Norris – 44 points 🏆

2. Max Verstappen – 36 points

3. George Russell – 35 points

4. Oscar Piastri – 34 points

5. Kimi Antonelli – 22 points

Further down the grid, Hamilton now sits in ninth with nine points, while Leclerc drops to tenth with eight points. Meanwhile, McLaren’s stellar one-two finish has propelled Norris to the top of the leaderboard, with Verstappen and Russell hot on his heels.
